Treasures, Maps, Ships and Routes: 17th Century Maritime Trade in Asia

Since 2004 Richard Pegg has served as the Asian Art Curator and Director of the Maclean Collection Asian Art Museum and separate map library in Illinois. He received his BA and MA in Chinese and Japanese language and literature from George Washington University and completed his Ph. D in East Asian Art History from Columbia University in 2000. He has been an Asian art curator for the last 27 years.

He has published and lectured widely on the arts of Asia. His recent books include "Passion for Form: Selections of Southeast Asian Art from the MacLean Collection" and "The MacLean Collection: Chinese Ritual Bronzes". His most recent book is entitled "Cartographic Traditions in East Asian Maps".
