Mistaken, Forgotten, Revived: A Painting's Journey

How can a painting be lost? In his talk "Mistaken, Forgotten, Revived: A Painting's Journey," Dr. Peter L. Doebler, Kettering Curator of Asian Art at the Dayton Art Institute, will explore the life of a monumental Korean screen painting. Part of the museum collection since 1941, it was progressively marginalized only to recently receive new life through fresh research and extensive conservation. In addition, he will provide an overview of the DAI's recently reinstalled Korean art collection.
